Join the Pelotonia Movement in Central Florida!

August 3 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Pelotonia 2024

The Ohio State Alumni Club of Central Florida is honored to be invited to participate in a Pelotonia event, in conjunction with Pelotonia in Columbus, OH on August 3. The Central FL SUNSHINE CYCLISTS will take place at Gemini Springs State Park in Volusia County. The mission of Pelotonia is to end cancer by funding The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. For more information regarding Pelotonia, its history, mission, and accomplishments please go to pelotonia.org. 100% of participant raised funds support cancer research.

Although the Columbus event is focused strictly on cycling, our event will include other activities.  Florida participants are referred to as Challengers thus allowing anyone to challenge themselves with any activity they would like such as biking, walking, swimming, running, or learning a new skill. For those unable to attend our event on August 3, you can choose your own challenge, day, and place as long as it is completed by August 3.

All Challengers are invited to attend the event at Gemini Springs State Park, complete your challenge, and join in the camaraderie. The State Park is intersected by a segment of the Florida trail system which is long enough to be challenging or short enough to accommodate any fitness activity. The opportunities are endless. We have reserved a covered pavilion with benches and a shaded grassy area for chairs and blankets. There is a children’s playground, paved trails for biking, running, or walking within the park, as well as a fishing dock where you can challenge yourself to catch a big fish. Some alumni will be challenging themselves to cycle along the Florida trail system. For more information on this particular challenge, please be sure to read page two.

How to Register as a Challenger (for any activity)

  • Create a new account or log in if you are a returning participant
  • After creating your account you’ll want to sign up as a Challenger
